Members of the U.S.
military and their families are a significant group in most American
communities, and the Southern Alleghenies Chapter continued to provide
support this year to local military families in time of need. While
providing services to active duty personnel and their families, the Red
Cross also reached out to members of the National Guard and the Reserves
and their families, informing them how to access Red Cross emergency
communications and services.
Military service frequently
separates families for extended periods and often places loved ones in
harm's way. The Red Cross provides timely and reliable emergency
communications and case management services 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week, helping families stay connected when a problem develops.
The Red Cross can help you with immediate personal and family
emergencies. When long-term counseling is required, appropriate referrals
are made. All Red Cross social services are provided free of charge.
